Hacked Borgs And Eye Cameras #2184

Brief description of the issue Hacked or emagged borgs camera's aren't supposed to be seen through by those at a security console

What you expected to happen For security to not be able to see through this borgs eye and henceforth direct their forces to get it

What actually happened They did the exact opposite of what I expected

Steps to reproduce Be a borg, do something to get security on your case and on your camera, watch them track you down no matter where you go

They can actually be seen by AI as well, From what I can see, antag-borg cams work exactly like normal borg cams.

SilverTalismen commented 8 years ago

from what I'm told, it isn't supposed to work that way so I reported it for the player

RenScorch commented 8 years ago

I personally don't know. But I do agree that it very abuse-able. And even if you can get the AI to play nice with it, there really nothing stopping 5 other people from jumping on the cams and be like "OH SO HE OVER HERE." My only theory that could fix this that when given antag flag remove camera from network. But I don't know if that will pay nice with the code. You don't want to remove an borgs ability to see after all. It something to look into that is for sure.

SilverTalismen commented 8 years ago

i would say it should just mark the camera as disabled ike when a normal camera is cut

Anewbe commented 8 years ago

I'm gonna say this isn't intended behavior.

Mechoid commented 8 years ago

Thought I already noted it in a comment, but I didn't. The camera used for borg sight and the camera used for AI and security observation are two different things.

Maybe allow borgs to toggle their camera on and off so it's not an obvious tell when one vanishes from the list.
