I love the idea of this project, and I thought I would be able to fork this and make it work with LitElement with relative ease.

Unfortunately, this project relies heavily on HTML imports, which have been definitely deprecated this year.

Is there any plans inside the Polymer team to maintain this visual builder? Would it be valuable if we, the community, work towards this?

agree, would be awesome to see a litelement version happen!

I don't think there is any more development here.

Maybe this project I started based on wizzywid will help you: https://github.com/node-projects/web-component-designer

You could also use LitElements in it
