Hello,

If there are going to be changes, it would be greatly appreciated to the Community to announce those here on Github so we can read and understand.

I see now there a desktop & desktop-latest I don't really understand the differences of why now two?

Also I see popcorntime.ml is not online and now the site is popcorntime.ag?

For starters I'm not talking about github.com/popcorntimece I'm talking about this repo here; https://github.com/PopcornTime-CE, there is a difference between these two URLS

And from what I can see related to the http://popcorn-time.is which also has, I'm assuming a .ag domain? It then leads us back to this Github repo here; https://github.com/PopcornTime-CE which is saying this is the Official version?

So what account are you talking about being down, and operated by YIFY?

There has been a lot of confusion regarding the shut down of popcorntime.ml domain.

We have nothing to do with the fork of popcorntime.ml, we just made a backup of their repo to help them. You can see that the original repo at http://github.com/popcorntimece is down. This is just a backup. In fact popcorntime.ag repo is not yet uploaded to git, so there is no way to contribrute atm.

http://popcorntime.ag is based on .io version and is another community version with offical subreddit at http://reddit.com/r/popcorntimeCE, It hase some extra features like a better infrastructure (more privacy, decentralization and APIs). popcorntime.ag is mentained by developers around the world, but operated by the yify group

Get your facts together, before you post your FAKE accusion. Popcorntime.ml was shut down by MPAA according to torrentfreak. Fortunately http://popcorntime.ag (yify group) is continuing the project with the old fork.

So why are you saying these are fake?

I personally have nothing to do with this project, or any of them, I am just an end-user trying to weed through all the chaos.

I actually compiled a version off of https://github.com/PopcornTime-CE/ and it ran, but I didn't play anything on it.

Now you mention that popcorntime.ag repo is not yet uploaded to git, please take a look at the screen shot below, it loads the site, you click on the GIT icon on the lower right, and it shows an URL to this repo here on GitHiub, so what do you mean?

Yes, we have not uploaded the source yet. This is just a copy of the .ml repo, which is no longer available, since the shut down. We decided to take this repository as a base, since it's very similar to our source code.

Currently, both versions are very similar. Our fork uses YIFY.is API and and PT.ml fork was using torrentsapi.com as default. That's currently the biggest difference between .is and .ml.

From my testing using YIFY.is, quality and catalog size seems to be just as good as it was before popcorntime went down. Torrentsapi made headlines because of his poor cam rips and slow downloads.

Well, we are continuing the project (or at least we try). I think all devs are okay with it. Our community may not be big as the old, but it's growing very fast and has a strong backing and support from YIFY.is chairmen

I'm a Linux geek, so I'm good on the side of computing in Linux, but I'm not a coder. I do compile and package the source as example for most apps I run in Linux.

One thing I'd love to do, is help to build Linux in a community, home users, or small business...

You wouldn't happen to have a need for a Computer Tech would you, in some local area, highly experienced in Computing?

Here are some things I've seen that happened in the past and supposedly solutions for them.

1. USA taken over DNS and taking down sites, so then P2P DNS was suppose to be created to resolve this? Or some form of decentralized DNS...
2. So this point, as it relates to number 1,. how was .ml taken down by the MPAA? Meaning, if they had this form of DNS, also hosted the site in a country outside the USA reach, then this should not be possible?
3. I thought there were also countries that did not align with the USA, so in matters of domestic affairs such as the MPAA/Piracy concerns, having a site hosted overseas from the USA, could give protection. But given that the USA has strongs ally ties around the world, and also many countries too fight piracy, what countries does that leave? I always thought being hosted in Sweden was suppose to be a good choice?
