Somebody at the other PT branch metioned it's going to fix itself when nw 0.13 is pulled in

In the meantime, I've noted in that thread that downgrading to an outdated and insecure libnss version 3.15 might serve as a temporary workaround for you, but another commenter noted the also outdated and insecure version 3.19 is also working. Stern disclaimer that those versions are out of date, missing several important security patches.

@webavant that issue was deleted, right? I thought you can't delete issues on github

webavant commented 8 years ago

I did notice a 404 on one of the referenced issues over there, but I figured they added a delete feature, although I'm unable to find one. Strange. No idea. I'm not a maintainer on any of the PT projects and I'm unable to reproduce a 404 on an issue in my own repos. I wonder if we should alert someone.

webavant commented 8 years ago

On #49 over there the title attribute on the link for #9 says "Title is private" and links to a 404, even though the URL is correct.

I sent a msg to github on the contact page

Response from github: "Hmm, it appears that the user who opened that issue has been flagged -- our team is currently investigating and if/when that user's account is restored that issue should be available again."

No news on when this issue is gonna get fixed?

vzamanillo commented 8 years ago

The problem has not easy solution, is related to an incompatibility between Chromium (webkit) + system libnss + TLSv1.2, the better solution consists in a Chromium upgrade (NW.js upgrade).

I was working on a PCTCE port to NW.js v.0.15 but is in (super) alpha development phase (need more testing, other OS, Chromecast... etc) but works well on Linux 64, there is not binary package released but you can setup your development environment to test it.

Any help would be appreciated and all contributions would be welcome.

VulkHead commented 8 years ago

I can help to test in my machine, running Kubuntu 16.04 64-bits. I've also have chromecast, so you tell me when and how and I'll test it.

vzamanillo commented 8 years ago

@VulkHead,

you can follow the repository instructions on branch develop to setup your development environment, if you get some problems you can go to gitter I'll be happy to help you.

I appreciate your help, thank you!!

@vzamanillo In your develop branch clicking on Watch buttom do nothing. Won't start playback in linux x64.

vzamanillo commented 8 years ago

Fill an issue in my fork, please (or do a checkout, I am actively working on the repo, maybe the problem is due to a incomplete commit), I will do a review, thanks!

Flushed all databases, restart and it was fixed (for me). Try it
