Progress window doesn't update properly #32

I've noticed a phenomenon where a sync progress window stops updating after an indeterminate amount of time.

Copying a large file, for instance, takes some time, during which the window doesn't update. But after that file, if further operations take place (copy, delete, etc) the window appears to still be on the large file. Simply moving the mouse over Toucan's window causes it to update and suddenly log all other operations.

I think something like that was fixed quite a while ago, though I think that was in the Backup section, which runs different things underneath...

Which version of Toucan do you have?

tedd-wq commented 4 years ago

It was 3.1.7.

I've just retried with 3.1.8 and got the same problem. In fact, I don't think the size of a file has any bearing. I synced a bunch of small files and the progress window doesn't update until I mouse over it. I mouse over the main Toucan window and nothing happens - it's only the progress window.

I'll close #37 as a duplicate, as it's seemingly about the same thing, but in the Backup task, which I guess is not that important.

I don't have enough time right now to debug this, so this is up for grabs if anyone is willing. I'll gladly review a PR or at least a debug results pointing at the problem though.

i can confirm this behaviour using toucan v3.1.8 the progressbar doesn't work as expected and the log-output freezes until some special mousemovement happens. on the other hand: in the background the sync-process is working well, so a frozen log doesn't mean your files aren't synced.
