Clarify labels/titles for Accommodations/time extensions #47

There was a suggestion made by an instructor using the CBTF (for the first time) that some of the text around adding time extensions for students is confusing.

Specifically, this page here:

Perhaps "Edit Time Extension" should be renamed to "Custom Time"?

Also, the text

"Set to 0 or blank to remove accommodation"

isn't quite complete is it? Because setting the value to 100 also technically removes the accommodation.

Anyway, I don't know what to suggest, this was confusing to me as well when I first encountered it and I had the same questions about what that box does. Filing an issue in case people have ideas.

The entire conversation is below:

Just to clarify (Firas didn't need to black out my name, lol, though I guess I appreciate it):

"Custom Time Extension" wouldn't have solved my confusion. My issue is that if a student gets 1.5x time, the amount of extension is 50% of the base time, right? This is exacerbated by

I don't think the behaviour should be changed, that would probably lead to much more confusion, but I think renaming it to something like "Custom Time Multiplier" would be less ambiguous and maybe overall clearer? In any case, the help text should absolutely have a 1.5x or 2x example in addition to the current text.

oops, I meant "Custom Time" not, "Custom Time ~Extension~".

I also agree with everything @djsutherland said!
