Navi-X not fast forwarding movies correctly #119

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a movie in Navi-X ver 1.44
2. Fast forward with Boxee remote

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect to fast forward
to the time shown on the slider, but it will only fast forward 10 secs at a
time. This was working before the new Boxee upgrade. I expect when I fast
forward that the movie will fast forward to the time displayed on the time
slider.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Using
Navi-X 1.44 and Boxee version 1.5.1.23735-b6a5be1 (Mar 2, 2012)

Please provide any additional information below.

Seeking (Fast Forwarind and Rewiding) in Navi-X is not controlled by Navi-X. It
is controlled by the media player in question, in this case Boxee 1.5.1.23735.

Seeking issues are actually caused by missing keyframes in internet video or a
drop in internet connectivity (during seeking, video stops)... typically
keyframes missing is the issue. There is nothing you can do about this. The
person who encoded the file would need to encode their files with keyframes to
resolve this.

I created a Navi-X Wiki article for this issue to explain it in the future to
others. Here is the link to it:

_Navi_X_it_does_not_seek

Ticket closed since we are unable to resolve this issue.
