Issue list needs to be cleaned up (some items should be marked 'closed')

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Review content of items in Issue list (one example: Issue 24)
2. Note that some of these issues have been resolved

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to see a *short* issue list, instead I see a long one, making it 
difficult to focus in on what work actually needs to be done.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
all platforms

Please provide any additional information below.

Perhaps the list could be divided up into chunks of 10 issues and a request put 
out to the community for people willing to review 1 chunk each and note items 
that appear to be resolved and flag them with a request to be closed.

Also, there are many issues marked 'new'... These should be reviewed and 
assigned a more helpful status.

I've gone through and closed a number of issues. Are there any you see that you 
believe should be closed?

#61 - propose this be changed to 'won't fix' (due to larger fish awaiting 
frying)
#65 - not a bug... hit OpenCL memory allocation limit
#99 - this is fixed in trunk.  Mark as fixed now, or wait till next release?

Now I feel guilty, for letting you clean up my mess.  

I will make a pass through the list tomorrow.

Thank you. Some of those issue tickets are referring to bigger concepts/issues 
(which ones should we close and which ones should we link together?) and some 
of them simply require new documentation be added to the wiki. Help is always 
welcome :)
