Sorry for the delay. I'm leery of too much presentation in this. Mentally, I virew this as "copyright page" material, which may migrate other places. So I purposely don't want much freedom, nor much presentation/layout.
So maybe "short" here really means "simple."
That said, we need a good way to show license-logos like this. Search (issues, mbx-support,...) for discussion with Alex. I balked at including CC license images within the PTX source, their terms put me off.
It'd be nice to be able to run thse logos in every footer, etc.
Maybe a "license-logo" (like "brand-logo") in front-matter? Then implementation can handle it exactly for what it is?
Do you want to move this to pretext-dev? (With the caveat that I am really under the gun for a few weeks.)

Could |shortlicense| permit a bit of structure? Matt uses an unnumbered |sidebyside| containing an |image| with the CC-BY-SA logo in there, which feels appropriate. It's pretty schema-violating, as there's no p's encapsulating the other text. For the time being, PDF and HTML both come out fine. However, if this is never going to become an officially-sanctioned construct, then we will probably want to consider doing something else for that.
