I can save my List to USB, editing BUT when I want to store the edited List in TV, it will read without an end. So it looks like something happens when saving the edited file to USB-Storage. Tried 4 Version of ChanSort (also older Versions). All the same problem

TV has actual Firmware (Version 03.21.30)

I'll take a closer look at your files as soon as I find some free time.

What I can say right away is that LG's firmware is very "picky" to say at least and every version comes with it's own "demands".

If the TV was initialized with a pre-ordered list (based on country and/or provider settings), the TV is unable to load a list from USB. It can result in just ignoring the list, or randomly reordering them. With WebOS 4 you could run a clean channel search (blindscan, no provider, no network search) and edit that list successfully.

The new WebOS 5 is even worse. The TV cannot even load a saved file back after you changed channels with the TV's own menu. Supposedly a list can only be loaded after performing a factory reset to clear the TV's internal list.

The TV has WEB-OS 2 The same problem is, when I save a file on the USB, and the want to read ist back to the TV. It never finished and the TV hangs, so that I can only switch it off. Will try tomorrow a factory reset and load the edited list. Hope that works. I let you know

If possible, use a USB-stick formatted with FAT32 and not larger than 16GB. Most sticks nowadays come with NTFS formatting and many TVs, which run on Linux internally, have occational problems with Windows' NTFS file system. Also large sticks may not be supported by all TVs.

I use aall the time a 8GB stick, formatted with FAT32. In attachment is a older file that works with the TV but we now get new frequencies, so that I had to make a new scan and sort. GlobalClone00001.zip

Tried today with a complete factory reset of TV and then to load the edited list. Same problem as before reset So I am nearly at the end of my ideas. Hope the last file helps you to evaluate the problem.

Könnte übrigens auch in deutsch (Muttersprache) schreiben, wenn es hier erlaubt ist, das wäre einfacher ;)

Kein Problem, ich verstehe auch Deutsch :) Könnstest du mir auch bitte die GlobalClone00001.bak schicken, das ist die Sicherheitskopie der Originaldatei, die ChanSort automatisch anlegt. Ich kann die beiden dann vergleichen und aus den Unterschieden eventuell feststellen, was das Problem sein könnte.

Die .bak habe nicht mehr von den Dateien, lediglich noch die von der Datei, die einwandfrei funktioniert. Die lege ich bei. OK.zip

Da ich leider selbst die direkt vom TV gespeicherten Dateien nicht wieder vom USB lesen kann, scheint es wohl an LG zu liegen. Ich habe Werksreset gemacht, kompletten Scan, TV --> USB gespeichert und dann direkt versucht von USB --> TV zu speichern. Selbes Problem. Der kann nichtmal seine eigenen Speicherungen lesen :(

Ich hatte das Problem schon mal bei einer älteren Firmware aber es ging dann irgendwann (ohne Änderungen). Quasi Fehler beim suchen verloren gegenagen.

So, neue Erkenntnisse. Es scheint am TV (WEBOS-Version) zu liegen. Die editierte Datei, die sich bei mir (WEBOS 2.1.0-3163) nicht laden lässt funktioniert bei meiner Nachbarin (WEBOS 3.x) einwandfrei. Werde mich jetzt mal an den LG-Support wenden

Hallo Horst, ich glaube ich habe es gefunden. Ich habe einen 8GB USB 2.0-Stick mit FAT32 verwendet. Der 2. Stick war ein 8GB USB 3.0-NTFS Stick. Beide an meinem TV (49LF590V-ZA) mit identischem Problem. Heute habe ich es mit einem alten USB-Stick versucht, der 128MB hat und FAT formatiert ist und es funktioniert einwandfrei. TV--USB, dann Editieren und dann USB-->TV. Alles OK

Es scheint so zu sein, dass mein TV (4 Jahre alt), Probleme mit den größeren Sticks hat, wenn gespeichert wird. Könnte man vielleicht mit in die readme mit übernehmen, das man evtl. bei älteren geräten kleinere Speicher verwenden sollte, wenn es Probleme gibt.

Sind die 8GB Sticks wirklich "FAT32" oder womöglich "exFAT"? FAT32 ist uralt, noch aus MS-DOS Zeiten und wird von wirklich jedem Betriebssystem unterstützt. exFAT wurde später speziell für USB-Sticks entwickelt und erlaubt Dateigrößen > 4GB, wird aber nicht von jedem Betriebssystem perfekt unterstützt. NTFS wird eigentlich nur von Windows korrekt unterstützt und verursacht unter Linux des öfteren Probleme.

Die sind definitiv FAT32. Ich mache seit 1982 mit Computern rum und hatte 12 Jahre einen eigenen IT-Service von 2002 an und bin da schon sehr fit. ;) Seitdem ich mit dem 128MB-Stick auf FAT arbeite, funktioniert es ohne Probleme.

Hi!! everybody!! Sorry for my english!

Also, having problems with fat32 , but you need first to safe removal de USB in the TV. , after that worked!!

• (input key in remote, scroll down to usb, and click in the EJECT icon on your right )

• And then connect and try again the import!! or copy the file again in the USB. but...

• Allways removal safety first! , either Tv or Computer.

• Con fat32 a veces también fallaba, lo que hay que hacer es extraer de manera correcta el pendrive USB de la tele, sino luego te da error de inicialización.

• Para ello hay que darle a la tecla del mano de input y bajar hasta el icono del USB y a la derecha hay un icono de Expulsar dándole ahí se expulsa el pendrive de manera correcta, y ya se puede conectar de nuevo e importar el archivo, o copiar de nuevo el archivo e importarlo.
