There is a secret key combination (I only know the german menu, so here's my best guess of a translation): Menu / Picture / Picture Mode / User Defined / Contrast / 6x ok This will open the service menu. The last item in there is the Hotel Menu. Within the hotel menu the last two options are "TV to USB" and "USB to TV".
Sorry, I only realized just now that you wrote about the LXW800. ChanSort only supports the 500/700 series, which has a different hardware platform and firmeware than the 800 series. The latter exports a completely different channel list format with encrypted files that I can't decypher.
Current firmware versions (of the 500/700 series and maybe the 800) also allow export from the regular menu now: First you need to press "Input" and select "Cable", "Antenna" or "Satellite". Then Menu / Channel and you'll have the last two options "Export to USB" and "Import from USB"
I just realized I got it mixed up yet again. Too many different models with different hard-/firmware and formats...
I have not seen an export of an LXW800 yet and don't know what kind of format this series uses. JXW600 exports an encrypted "settingsDB_enc.db" which can NOT be edited. JXW834 exports an encrypted "channel_list.bin" which can NOT be edited. JZT1500 exports a "svl.db" file which can be edited. LSW500 and LXW700 export a "tv.db" file which can be edited. MX700 and MZ800 export a "channellist.txt" file which can be edited MXW800 exports a "Channels.sdx" file which can be edited.
Hi, and kudos for the detailled answer! Much appreciated. So there's still hope it is actually editable 😅 I'll check all the options you laid out once I'm physically near that TV again and let you know the result!
Hi, after a quite exhaustive web search I'm posting this here, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I can't find a way to get a channel list exported on the LXW800 (it's an Android TV model). What I tried:
hotel.pwd
: Nothing happens. Some folders (Downloads, Documents, DCIM...) are written to the drive, but there is no export dialog popping up.tv.db
file as documented for the LXW700 devices. Do I need root to do this?
