I just get a blank page.

Hi Im not sure this is an issue but could you update the gemfile to the latest stable of ruby?

Now on Rails 4.2.1 and Ruby 2.2.2

This demo does nothing particularly fancy from a rails or ruby standpoint so pretty much any rails 4+ and ruby 1.9.3+ version should work.
