It's an informal designation. This would be any Unbound Paper item that is in neither the family of Office Print/Copy or Architectural Drawing Reproduction.

So therefore there is not a discrete base score as there had been for the other formats. The base score of any composite format (be it an Original Document or Bound item) will be determined by the Support and Ink/Media composite as defined in the wiki page.

I don't see any Unbound Paper formats that are not in one of those families.
This Unbound Paper - Original Document is a format. When the user selects it, they then specify the Support Type and then the Ink/Media Type and those, in unison, generate the base format score. Do you want to call me?

I get the scoring. My hangup is that currently there is no way to get to Unbound Paper -> Original Document in the user interface. There are the four radio buttons in the assessment form: A/V, Photo/Image, Paper-Unbound, and Paper-Bound/Book. Selecting Paper-Unbound causes a pulldown menu to appear containing Architectural Drawing Reproduction and Office Copy/Print options. So, the UI needs to change somehow to support this.
What I would propose (unless I'm way off track here) is to add Original Document as a distinct format, above where FID 133 is now, with "Original Document" in the Format Level 1 column. In the UI, then, this will appear above Arch Drawing Reproduction and Office Copy/Print in the first pulldown menu. Then, I will write code to treat it as a special case, displaying the auxiliary ink/media type and support menus, and calculating the score differently. Does this sound reasonable?
YES! that's exactly what I was attempting to say--without being so explicit as to tell you what it should look like in the interface. Affirmative.
Is there anything you need from me to do this?

Hmm. Only the section of the FIDG that Original Document should link to. Paper?
Paper And Ink & other media
...If we could support the two links. If not, how about we add a little statement about ink and other media (and link to it) at the top of the Paper FIDG profile? Not ideal, but it'll do.

We can't really support two links because there is only one help button next to the format pulldown menu. So, I think adding the statement to the paper profile will be the only way to go.
