The official releases use profile-guided optimization, makes the binaries a little bigger but gives a huge boost in performance, a boost our homebrew builds are currently missing out on.
There's a tool in the source that can generate files needed for PGO, but sadly it relies on some html files stored on an internal Opera server, maybe someone can find replacements for them somewhere else though (Firefox/chrome probably have similar PGO-tuning pages we could use), hardest bit is probably figuring out how to use their PGO tool.
