@paul-shannon paul, i've committed my directory that includes sample data files, and app.R which is my current working shiny app. New additions i've made to it include updating the X and Y drop down menu column names and data with every file name selection, before the 'go' button is pressed. After the file is selected, and both X and Y values are selected, the 'go' button will then plot a regression line showing the relationship between the due data values. Let me know your thoughts and opinions.
