Thanks for this this write up. I ended up down a very similar rabbit hole a few months back also using lord-valen's repo as a jumping off point. This brings some more clarity around some of the concepts. I'm glad this is post out in the world to bring attention to it.

You've saved me --or rather, have caught me up on-- a couple of weeks of confusion as I've combed over flakes/std/hive etc.

While I'm still out of my depth, how you've managed to make me feel like for once I do have a chance at grasping nix along with some of the projects that seem to make it worth the headache is something I'm going to have to revisit (as I'd like to and wish to explain ... anything ... as well as you have here. So, THANK YOU for taking the time to do so and for providing the visuals to help conceptualize code/project structure a bit more intuitively!

Thanks, now I'm starting to understand rather than just copying configs. Still don't know where it is compared to flake-parts, but now I know more of one thing.
