based on https://github.com/PrismLauncher/meta/pull/62 hopefully, I did not break anything but with the change from https://github.com/PrismLauncher/meta/pull/62 we need this otherwise this will take ages. And yeah I did access global vars but only for reading: they are not modified anywhere so it should be fine
