The importance of recruiting a diverse group of students is noted in the NCWIT REU-in-a-box resource, but I can't find any information on how to do so on CONQUER site. Both explanations of its importance and how-to resources should be accessible via multiple paths through the site. In the current site map, this would include via Resources > For Faculty, Faculty > Research with Undergraduates, and Faculty > Resources for Planning a Successful REU. If graduate student areas of the site are added, this should be included there too.
This might include:
standard techniques for reducing bias in recruitment processes
strategies for going beyond bias reduction to provide opportunities to those who may not have the best CV because systemic injustice has decreased their opportunities.
