Cannot assign license to Financial Reporting Matrix #479

I purchased a license for v7 of the Financial Reporting Matrix from AppSource. Our IT consultant/admin sees the Financial Reporting Matrix Premium listed under licenses on our M365 tenancy but cannot assign the license to me. The error is 403:AuthorizationError. I have an open support case with Microsoft but to date no solution. Any idea why this is happening?

Hi @AJinCA,

When I assign licenses myself, it works as it should. We are in contact with Microsoft as well to understand what is happening here.

Until we hear back from them, there's not much we can do, apart from you trying again at a later point.

If you bought these licenses yourself, with your user, you should be able to assign them, according to the documentation: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/developer/visuals/licensing-faq#can-i-sign-in-to-microsoft-365-admin-center-even-if-i-m-not-an-admin-

Hi,

The feedback from Microsoft was that the person who purchased the licenses, or the Global Admin, needs to go here: https://admin.microsoft.com/Adminportal/Home?#/licenses

and assign the licenses from that window.

Is this still an issue for you? Are the users you are assigning to normal users, or guest users?

I've purchased 5 premium licenses and it looks like I'm running into the same issue as mentioned above. The licenses were purchased by me and I was able to assign them to users in the Microsoft 365 admin portal. Problem is I'm not able to assign/reassign them from users anymore. I've contacted our IT helpdesk and they were also not able to assign them even with global admin rights, so they told me to get in contact with you as it's a third party license.

Do you know what's going on? See the attached image.

Hi @Thomma89

I'll have to check with Microsoft. Let you know once they respond.

It might be quicker if you register a ticket with them from admin portal. There should be a button in the bottom right where you can contact Microsoft support and write a short description of your issue.

But i will try to get an answer to why this happens, and how to fix it.

Thanks for the quick respose and reaching out to Microsoft @AndersAano. I will register a ticket in the admin portal, hope they can privde a swift resolution.
