Major abnormality with RLS data when downloading to excel #597

Hey everyone,

we are using a report with RLS containing salaries data. we've tested the report a lot of times, and the downloading to excel (in the visual) always worked well by the data currently showing, as filter by the RLS.

when one of the users (which was defined as a viewer) tried to download the data from the matrix, he downloaded an excel file with ALL the data, without the RLS filtering. After doing some test on the same user, it looked like this doesn't happen anymore, and the data is always filtered as in the RLS.

has this ever happened to anyone? no sure it's related to the matrix, has anyone ever encountered anything like this?

Hi @aaadamt,

We have not heard anything RLS-issues from other users.

With the matrix being certified, it means it cannot display any other data than what's being "pushed" to it by Power BI. And with RLS in place, it the only data that should be pushed to the matrix should be the data that is being filtered by the RLS.

Our visual does not have any way to access more data, so is sounds like the RLS-related issue, and not a visual issue.
