The GCC maintainers have publicly stated they do not agree with
the Free Software Foundation's non-inclusive behavior. And
importantly, they made clear that the FSF is not actually the
maintainer at all.
GCC support shouldn't have been removed in order to distance this
project from the FSF. That is a very scorched-Earth approach that
only would have potentially worked if other projects did the same.
Luckily, the goal of removing support for the FSF was more
accomplished by the GCC maintainers than by this project.
It makes sense for max to continue to support GCC.
