Could we have a flag that causes the object to be unlabelled, i.e. the "Name" 
data does not appear in the settings window, just the object?

Already possible. Start the name with '^' to not show it, or with '~' to both 
hide it and extend the data column into the name column.

Excellent. I thought ^ moved the name to the right (only seen it used with
check boxes)
