Changed events fire on startup #20

The changed events fire on start up - I can't tell if it's purely because the 
setting of the default text is triggering it or if it's something else, but 
it's particularly annoying for the new button object - essentially a "click" is 
triggered at start up.

Is there a way around this or is it a bug that can be fixed?

Interestingly the bug only applies when loading a layout - adding a new item to 
a layout doesn't trigger it, but when the layout is saved and reloaded you get 
the extra click.
