[Android] [Cloud] Build freezes at stage "Upload step started." #358

Did you verify whether this issue has already been reported here?

No, but have similar issues for iOS on https://github.com/NativeScript/sidekick-feedback/issues/203.

I am new in NativeScript, and following tutorial mentioned in https://docs.nativescript.org/sidekick/getting-started/build to build my first NativeScript app.

However, it have issue when doing 2.2 Build for Android, whereas the build freezes on Upload step started.

Which platform(s) does the issue occur on?

Android

Windows 8.1

Hi @jerrychong25, Try to clean up the cloud workspace by selecting the File->Clean Cloud Workspace option from the NativeScript SideKick menu and try to rebuild the project.

Hi @jerrychong25, We will need some additional info to investigate further your case. Try to build the project again via SideKick, when the build is on Upload step startedstep, wait two or three minutes. Then open the logs folder(Help->Show Logs) and send us the main and console files.

Also, try to build the project using the cloud builds via CLI and send us the generated log as well. Check out the steps below:

  1. open the Command Prompt (cmd) and execute the npm root -g. This will print the directory of all globally installed packages.
  2. go in the npm folder while using the path printed by npm root -g -> cd <path>
  3. go into the nativescript's config folder cd node_modules\nativescript\config
  4. runexplorer .command and open the config.json file.
  5. in the console.json file, we need to set the DEBUG option to true. For example:

  6. open the project's folder via cmd
  7. run tns cloud build android --emulator --accountId 1 --log trace > log.txt 2>1command. When build froze (two or three minutes might be needed). Stop the build.
  8. send us the generated log.txt file.

    Note: Keep in mind that you need to set DEBUG to false again when the cloud build via CLI is stopped. ("DEBUG": true, will provide some richer log, which is needed for the investigation of the problem).
