The proposed retreat will bring into fore the members of the community in a shared space, will organize with partner organizations, and coordinate with people from WebOfChange as sponsors, to bring members of the community into a shared space and strategize and discuss the issues important to the community at large. Budget is mainly on venue reservation, hotel stipends (flight, hotel accommodations, etc.) for students and for those who need it. The retreat will happen on August 2017 if this is put into high-priority.
The dream would be to have an annual retreat for coders to develop ideas and awesome projects through a summer camp program. During this retreat, students and young professionals who’ve participated in ProgCode will be visited and lectured by prominent leaders within the coders and activist movement. This will promote camaraderie, boost morale, and provide a continuous flow of skill to push the progressive spirit forward.
High-priority budget: $80,000
Problem
We need to have a shared space for members to train them and build them up for the progressive movement.
Benefit
Provides training on organizing, progressive technologies, and partnerships with organizations who would want to sponsor trainees.
Plan
[ ] consent vote
[ ] community vote for priority
[ ] if high priority raise funds and then implement
