MoveOn.org is the largest independent, progressive, digitally connected organizing group in the United States. Launched in 1998, MoveOn pioneered online organizing and advocacy techniques that have become standard in politics, nonprofits, and industry in the U.S. and worldwide and continues to innovate in the use of mobile, social media, and other digital tools to connect and empower progressives.
We combine rapid-response political campaigning with deep strategic analysis, rigorous data science and testing, and a culture of grassroots member listening and participation that allows us to consistently and quickly identify opportunities for progressive change–and mobilize millions of members to seize them.
We are most interested at the moment in Events-hosting related platforms and technology.
We are also interested in aggregating and operationalizing data about elected officials (like with Phone-your-rep and national-voter-file ).
Tools
We use Python/Django and Node/Express to deploy things on AWS stack, recently on Lambda.
On the frontend, we are mostly using React.
We communicate a lot with and through the ActionKit CRM system
