From Dave's post:

Thanks for offering to share our project effort with your network of progressive coders. My research team consists of three professionals researching a trusted, scalable solution that efficiently connects newly arrived Syrian refugees with community resources and employment opportunities.

I could tell you more about our background research -- about what it takes to help newly resettled refugee families get on their feet to economic self-sufficiency. Our early research in Northern NJ finds relief agencies in “reactive” mode, with a minimally coordinated response. National events have motivated a growing number of grassroots volunteers and interfaith collaboratives rising up to gather together asking: “How can I help?” Relief agencies and related support organizations are not yet able to harness volunteer participation effectively.

We are looking for someone who might have knowledge of volunteer management software tools already on the market, or who has ideas for the application of other technologies that might help us with this challenge. Perhaps someone in your network has participated in developing a tool that could help us connect newly resettled refugees with local employment opportunities? We know that colleges all have electronic job boards, but we need something small-scale, manageable, easy to navigate. Average age of typical user is 40+ (little to no social media experience or tech skills).
