Adding several major websites we might work with
This project ended up providing the data that supplied the map (#9)
What problem are we trying to solve?
Having fresh and complete data to supplement the map project and to serve as internal tools and support to the other Hack the Opioid Crisis projects. This data should be the backbone to the user-facing projects and have a compatible and clean API that they can work with.
Who will benefit (directly and indirectly) from this project?
The other projects under the Take Back Day initiative and at the end of the day, the Take Back Day attendees.
Where can we find any research/data available/articles?
We have data sources from the Attorney General's office in this public repo and can try and scrape other sites if we need to. DisposeMyMeds.org (community pharmacies) and Walgreens (maybe tied to CVS locations might be separate, needs to be looked into.) NYS Department of Conservation also has locations. DEA pop up sites list: takebackday.dea.gov
What help is needed at this time?
It also needs developers who are excited about writing tests, webscraping, and data cleaning.
What are the next steps (validation, research, coding, design)?
Architecture
How can we contact you outside of Github(list social media or places you're present)?
