[Feature Request]: Default values for units #3

Is there an existing issue for this?

What would your feature do ?

Adding cost information to assets becomes tedious for multiple assets. Is it possible to have default unit values for specific types? For example, the investment cost defaults to a standard EUR or EUR/MW and variable operational costs to EUR/MWh?

Proposed workflow

  1. Add cost information to an asset
  2. Default values have been set for the unit type (maybe only for the supported unit types in the POC?)
  3. Fill in value and only adjust unit if necessary

In first this is an request for the Mapeditor, so adding Edwin and Ewoud. But this is also important for TPG GUI, so also adding Wouter en Stephan.

BTW, Isn't this (partly) solved by using the EDR? You can put all that information inside the EDR asset.

The issue I have with defaults is that the logical choice is really use case or tool specific (and I'd like to keep the MapEditor as generic as possible). We can build something that the default units become an adjustable setting of course, but I'm not sure if this is a feature higher on the wish-list than others.

Additionally, you can use the Table Editor to copy over values from one asset type to the others. See View menu -> Table Editor: image This works similar as in Excel: use the blue square and drag it down to copy values from the selected colum.
