This KPI measures the efficiency of heat sources (for instance, geothermal) over an entire heating season. The Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) is calculated by comparing the total heat output to the total electricity input over that period. The SCOP provides metric of a system’s performance across varying conditions, rather than just at a single point in time. This information helps evaluate the efficiency and performance of different heat sources, understand energy usage patterns, and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
Data Collection:
Collect data on seasonal electricity consumption and heat supply of each heat source in the network. This includes electricity used by heat pumps, boilers, and other heating equipment.
KPI Calculation:
Calculate the SCOP for each heat source. Store calculated KPIs in an ESDL file.
Data display and visualization:
Retrieve KPIs from the ESDL file in the front-end. Display SCOP in the toolkit's web front-end with the specified frequency (weekly, monthly, quarterly). Use charts and graphs to provide a clear visual representation of the data, making it easy for users to compare the SCOP of different heat sources.
Additional information
Coordinate with development team where this KPI should be calculated (Simulator/Optimizer or KPI calculator).
Determine how often this KPI should be calculated for each asset (weekly, monthly, seasonally).
