Josh: There is no way to claim land in Survival, as we have rules against griefing.

What we advise though is to build at least 100 blocks away from the nearest players base. If there is just some torches on the ground, you are most likely okay to build, but if it is someone who cleared out an area and lit it up to build their base, we will most likely ask you to move 🙂
