Rahamza: Make bamboo and poisonous potatoes compostable!

Would help clean out potato and bamboo, since the poison potato has no use at all besides eating and bamboo only can be used to make sticks, be planted or burned.

And who doesn't love a bit of extra bonemeal?

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: Bamboo makes the construction block things

Lexi: I'm fine with composting poisonous potatoes on the condition that it gives you the poison potion effect for a short time

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: Poisonous potatoes give /trash a purpose

Tbh I don’t know if it makes sense for it to be compostable- I mean you’re putting poison in there. Maybe I’m over thinking it. Ultimately, I don’t care whether it is compostable or not. A method of poisonous potato cleansing would make more sense, but i think it’s unnecessary (unless someone already has an idea)

Lexi: being able to wash potatoes would actually be kinda cool

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: right click them on a cauldron w/ water in it to cleanse the potato (and lower the water level by 1)?

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: could be interesting

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: I like that a lot, but I fear with the amount of poisonous potatoes you could get in a harvest, it would be a hassle if it lowered the water level every potato. Maybe a 25% chance to lower it? Maybe lower chance?

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Axonerd: instead of lowering water, making it poisonous

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: mmm perhaps. Basically another method of my brewing suggestion (113), but it retains the potato

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: i think a cooler solution would be to have cauldrons support getting filled by a dispenser with a water bucket so you could make a redstone contraption to auto-refill the cauldron

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: ew redstone well I suppose

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

keyholes: that sounds nice in concept but a but a bit cumbersome to wash them in practice. the chance to get poisoned if you do it by hand, but bypassable with a hopper->composter setup maybe?

Sora.TrippleC555: Maybe leave the idea of it draining the water from the cauldron everytime you try to wash, you can wash up to a stack at a time, however there is a chance that it fails, make it like a 25 -50% chance to succeed but still consume water regardless. Make it so you really have to"scrub and work for it", but allowing a full stack washable at once means it's still worth the effort and time you're saving.

The following parentheses aren't necessary but are there as potential additions to this idea:

70 % chance to fail (10% of this doesn't consume water) 20 % chance to succeed (10% of this doesn't consume water) 7.5 % chance to succeed AND convert the rest of the water into poison potion 2.5 % chance to succeed, poison potion convert and refill all cauldron uses (so a full cauldron of poison, none consumed)

Not going to add anything for poisonous potatoes
