Cyn: Some sort of cap to villagers each player can have? Either that or removing the cure discount from the game. Something to make villagers less op than they currently are. If anyone else has any suggestions that could work better than what I suggested above, feel free to suggest it.

Axo64: they reset their stock twice a day, maybe if its cured more than once it could only be once?

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Cyn: I still think cure discounts are too op as they are- if we kept cure discounts, maybe make them unstackable (and thus, re-curing would do nothing)

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: So what I never understood is why the cure discount brings them to 1 immediately. From what I've seen it should bring them down 5 emeralds at a time, but this doesn't seem to be the case? Capping villagers, imo, is not a solution.

What I would suggest is that curing discounts a percent, not an amount. The cure discount's existence makes sense, but removing the ability to bring them down to 1 emerald (so, if you have a prot IV book trade for 47 emeralds, maybe it's only a 50% discount down to 23).

Rahamza: I'd say atleast remove the cure effect, if people want discounts just get the hero of the village effect. that gives up to 55% at lvl 5 for a limited time. and makes it more deserved in my opinion.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Rahamza: cuz under the right circumstances, the cure-stack can lead to some broken farming methods, especially with salvaging and certain trade patterns.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Rahamza: like infinite emeralds or diamonds, to name a few points. (from vanilla aspects that is, if this was patched then fantastic!)

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Rahamza: so yeah, really broken in my opinion.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: hence the change to percentage discount rather than an emerald discount. Would prevent bringing trades down to a broken amount. Also as a little add on to the percentage thing, perhaps it should work in steps to (so like, 10% discount, to 20%, to 30%, to 40%, then stops at 50%).

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Rahamza: i mean, lvl 1 hero effect is 30%.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Rahamza: but since its hard mode, it does add in a bonus round. the only change with bad omen levels is enchant chances on enemy tools.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Rahamza: so, i'd say 40% at lvl 5 is fair. 10% at lvl 1 atleast.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

keyholes: it doesn't if you only cure once. I cured a mending villi and his price went down to 6/7 emeralds, not 1, from 30-something.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

keyholes: (and no, I hadn't punched him)

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: this is already the case

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: fixes.fix-curing-zombie-villager-discount-exploit is set to true in the paper world defaults config

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Lexi: as you say, curing does indeed permanently reduce the trade amount by 5 emeralds. there are additional temporary buffs on top of that which go away over time.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Cyn: Didn't know that was the case, things still seem to be super cheap and the market's lowkey oversaturated with things coming from villager trades. I'll think of some alternative ideas that could remedy my original issue

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Knack: you know i was going to ask if that was i thing, because it wasnt working for me
