Toku // Aearost: I'm not sure if it's been formally suggested or not, but I think adding Allay spawn eggs to the vote point store would be so nice. Considering they're the new mob in 1.19 and they're extremely rare to come across in Survival (and the only ones that do exist are seemingly all taken already), I don't see why they shouldn't be purchasable in the shop. They'd obviously be made more expensive than most other spawn eggs (i.e 100 or even 150) as you only need 1 to "breed" them, however I really feel like them not being available is quite a bummer :/

Barza: Uh well it doesn't mention Allay specifically, but this was a suggestion on adding axolotls and frogs to VPS (circa June 26) https://github.com/ProjectEdenGG/Suggestions/issues/104

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Barza: I support adding both those two mobs and the allay to the VPS; don't see why not to be honest. The frogs and axolotls especially since they're less functional and more aesthetic (at least the axols; frogs gib froglights and make froglight farms in the nether abundantly easier so I can understand that one maybe). I'm not really aware of the allay's actual usefulness in survival, but either way I don't see a reason to exclude them, mostly just for parity with most other mobs.

Griffin: We will also be passing on this; it will be clear why very soon

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Boffo: I still think it would be a good idea to add them to the /vps as well, even though they should probably be quite expensive

Toku // Aearost: I'm under the impression that there's going to be some sort of event that gives us access to getting them, though I feel like it's going to be a lengthy process, similar to how withers work. I don't see a reason why it should be complex like this, especially considering it's the new mob of this version. I can say that I myself have never actually seen an Allay in game, and it's a bit disappointing that I won't be able to without some extra process/having to wait for it

Griffin: Have you read #announcements?

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Griffin: Quite a lot of assumptions were made in that message. We have decided not to add them to the VPS because we don't want to allow players to skip the vanilla survival aspect of finding them. This entire server is built on quality of life enhancements, the wither arena is the only thing I can think of that is more difficult than the vanilla mechanic. So I'm really not sure how you jumped to such a conclusion.

keyholes: Related question; what's the world size limit on the resource world? Is it realistic for players to be able to find them, given how rare mansions are, and them only appearing at some pillager outposts?

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

keyholes: Also Toku did find a woodland mansion completely legitimately only to find it'd been blocked for a future project - they already put in the work.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Griffin: You can look at the map to find out, it can change slightly month by month. This month it is a 7,500 radius.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Griffin: If we hadn't have claimed it for the server, I absolutely 100% guarantee another player would have claimed it already anyway, and you'd be stuck in the same situation. There's really no difference between the server claiming it. Plus, no disrespect, but finding a mansion is by no means difficult with a fully complete world map available for you to explore, and with the assistance of a lucky /rtp, or with the assistance of a nearby player, and an elytra & some rockets, the trek there is also not very difficult.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

keyholes: My point wasn't that it was difficult, but that Toku has already had the vanilla experience that you're prioritising. You could let them do a one-time purchase of an allay spawn egg for vote points and then forbid the rest of us, I'd be okay with that.

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Griffin: My point is that, as is inherit with a multiplayer server, the world is limited and people claim limited resources within that limited world. If another player had claimed/raided the mansion and wasn't selling the allays (be it refusal or inactivity), Toku would be in the same situation. We're almost 2 months into this world, bit too late to feel any inherit claim on any major structure or its contents like a mansion. This is why we have a resource world, and why we've added mob nets to allow you to utilize the contents of the resource world (and previously had animal teleport pens that did the same thing).

ProjectEdenBot commented 2 years ago

Griffin: So the vanilla experience isn't to show up at one mansion and expect to find what you need. Vanilla (multiplayer of course) has these issues, and I think we've made it exceedingly easy for you to work around them.

keyholes: Welp, sorry Toku, I tried 😂
