InvIncabl3: Well both me and ChamPeon are currently working on an idea build, so we’re not sure what would be good for a set in stone theme.
InvIncabl3: We have made a proof of concept map if anyone would be interested.

the_champeon: I have some other map ideas but I’d like to hear opinions from staff on the game’s premise before going forward
blastdev: realistically, I believe we have some other things that will take priority over a new minigame. I like the concept, but I don't think we have the bandwidth to develop it right now
blastdev: though, i did run around the map, and the concept it fun, but not sure how a zombie should get over any of the parkour spots :P
InvIncabl3: the plan was for it to not actually be a zombie, but an custom entity / killing zone that slowly travels along the path behind the runners. said entity would slow down on the obstacles, but would speed up when chasing the players on non-obstacles
griffincodes: That sounds like a lot of work
griffincodes: It would be very difficult to code
InvIncabl3: we could instead just have it as an obby/race

griffincodes: If it's just baby zombies then it's fairly easy to code, but any custom "entity"/aura type thing would be pretty difficult even for experienced developers.
griffincodes: Is it possible to just use baby zombies? I havent take a look at the map, maybe use the step height attribute?
barza: Would making it just a wall of lava that travels make it easier? A derivation from the original idea, but I'm thinking: You could do an obstacle course that ascends over time with lava slowly following. Not like a directly vertical tower that would let you fall all the way down, but like more of like a stair or spiral formation where it's not so directly punishing if you mess up. Different, but it's still the same idea of trying to outrun something.
Or, just it a wall of lava and it would work with the original idea, just might look a little ugly :P
blastdev: it's more of like... anything moving is more difficult that it sounds

blastdev: Is this not just a multiplayer parkour race, with an added element behind you? if we removed anything following you, would the game still function the exact same?
the_champeon: sort of. with baby zombies chasing the runners there is more pressure. the idea was to have the zombies be faster than the runners and the obstacles slow zombies down so the runners can outpace them We could have barrier blocks or other things spawn at fixed time intervals so the zombies can get over the obstacles. we would just need a way to coax the zombie ai to keep chasing the players
InvIncabl3: if needed, we could re-vamp the entire map to make it plausible for baby zombies and the likes to get through
the_champeon: Thinking about that it wouldn’t be too hard: all we’d need to do is add one block tall tunnels in the decoration sides with soul sand on the obstacles that the zombie ai would not feasibly navigate on its own
the_champeon: an idea Blast had: instead of mobs what if it is a wall of particles chasing the player
Leahz333: Could be like a Druun situation like in Raya and the Last Dragon where they get chased by shadow and are only safe in water, but in the game, the water should evaporate

griffincodes: Leah's comment gave me the idea of just eliminating the person in last place every lap or checkpoint or something until there is only one person left. It would be infinitely easier to code than any other suggestions so far
