Barza: So idk what the plans are for market renewal; hope that's a fun time for you. I had a random thought that I thought would be inconveniently fun for people:

Rotating Markets: Way it would work is every week, a set of items are able to be sold (maybe 10-20), each item with a price variation like "highly wanted", "underperforming", "mid", etc. (so dirt could be between $.50 to $4 per 32 a week, and diamond blocks could be between $3000 to $5000 in a week- prices purely theoretical). Makes it so that farms for money are a bit obsolete, and it gives more of an incentive to work for things I guess? Like you could have something as weird as moss on there. The idea could be refined and added upon- it's just a base thought. If you made it like two weeks or three weeks even, you could maybe have the performance of certain items vary over the time period and change. Only problem I can see is someone selling something on the player shop and the market selling it for a higher price, so they end up getting bought out and getting their stuff sold for a higher price before they can sell it themself.

Lexi: we're planning something vaguely similar to this i think

Josh: Kind of yeah, it at least follows the similar principles that this suggestion wants to achieve.

Barza: that makes me very happy to hear! If anything i hope my suggestion could've provided supplementary ideas to build on as well. Good luck and I can't wait!

Griffin: If anyone has any thoughts to add, feel free, but otherwise im going to close this channel in 24 hours, since it is quite close to what we are already planning

Barza: To add on to my idea of having the performance of items vary over time:

Maybe it could change based on how players interact with the items? Lets say netherwart and bread are featured items. Netherwart is at a "highly wanted" state, so it's sell price and so players go for it. Maybe after a quota is met, or after some time, because so many people sold it it's no longer wanted and drops. Maybe as a part of this, bread, which could have been at a "somewhat wanted" state rises to being highly wanted. So on and so forth

Depending on how long these market rotations last, maybe we could see connections between different phases. Like lets say Pink tulips were a part of the last rotation and did super bad (no one paid for it). If it didn't rise in the last rotation (or if it did and still no one sold it), it showed up in the next rotation with a higher price state or maybe even a special "Bonus" state that would give you more money for doing it. I don't really know how to feel about this idea, but it'd make it a fun gambling game for people to grind for some items in the previous rotation and see if it increases later.

Barza: And related to how this could affect player shops, maybe make it so that if an item someone is selling on the player shops shows up on this market, people can make it so that the game will lock that item on their shop so people can't buy them out unless the player chooses to unlock it (on by default).
