Sora.TrippleC555: We should make a rarely changeable (maybe once a week or something you can change it??) thing where you can change your "McMMO Specialty", where essentially you could choose to have a small 5-10% XP boost in your prefered McMMO Skill set. Maybe even have it an increasing number with your level, so it scales a little to feel like its not useless.

For example: I choose Herbalism this week, for this week (based on my level i get a boost) going from 5% at level 1-20, 6% at 21-40, until capping at 10% at level 100+, of course resetting with any mcmmo resets.

Alternatively, Maybe do XP booster of the week, like a random skill is chosen for the community, encourages people to try different things every week. Although this does also reduce personal choice in wanting to focus on some sort of "trade" they may desire, but also makes it feel more natural, like seasons where your job prospers, or maybe someone elses does, and allows a more wide share in the community? but i feel like just letting people choose also does this just as efficiently

Barza: Personally, I feel the alternate idea is better as it's random and not up to the user. You could even just make it specific to people, e.g. "You feel a sudden passion for Herbalism! 10% xp boost" (which may be better so people aren't all doing the same thing in a week, and maybe there are cases where this could be an issue?).

The first option to me, as you've made it, doesn't have any drawbacks (yet?), so there's no cost to getting an xp boost or no work required; kinda boring. You could also combine the ideas and have there be a global boost to a specific one, and then maybe individually you could choose between a randomly generated set of boosts with varying degrees (so maybe you can choose between woodcutting at 7%, fishing at 8%, mining at 11%, and maybe even a combo like herbalism and acrobatics 5%). This would alleviate the issue with randomness with a larger amount of options, as it could lead to people waiting months for a boost they want. There's a lot of ways to do this though and I'm sure if staff wanted to, they'd figure out a good way to go about it, so I won't go on.

Lexi: i don't think there's a good way we could implement a self-choosable specialty

Lexi: we either let people get really easy XP by making it possible to change their specialty (even with a cooldown of a week for a month it'd still be abused) or we go origins style and only let players set their specialty once which would probably result in some upset players regretting their choices

Griffin: The only thing I can think of to make this remotely balanced is to decrease your exp gain for skills other than the one you choose, but still very much what lexi said
