1 year ago There's something going wrong with the area-weighted global average.
I made a simpler version of the google-cloud-basic notebook for demo here. I weighted the average by cosine(latitude) and got sensible results.
The temperature timeseries at the end of this section doesn't seem to have sensible temperature units.
