Create wiki for collect actual info and links

Problem

• Cannot find info in issues (even yourself) after several months not touching project

Propose

Create structured wiki for warm up this project. It helps new users to review and decide next actions that they will do with their wheelbases.

As sections, I see:

• Basic instructions for extract firmware

• Table with WheelBase → firmware name

• Instructions for reverse engineering software (screenshot, versions, recommendation, how-to)

• Breaking actions (like unable update via standard Fanatec software). My base CSL Elite i.e. cannot update via standard driver (only via prorammator) also I have difficulties with Fanatec wheel software

• Pages for every wheelbase:

  • schematic photos and schemas
  • processor name
  • additional components like flash
  • principal electric scheme
  • other useful info

I start here now. What we know about reverse Engineering:

WIKI

• Legal notice. In some countries Reverse engineering it is absolutely legal for repair and support hardware that you buy to your property. So bootloader and firmware is you property (IN SOME COUNTIES, as I know). "Right to repair" etc. But of course you may lose warranty from Fanatec.
• Key for extraction binary firmware from Fanatec official driver we need a key: TBD
• This binary DOES not include valid bootloader. So after flash your wheelbase you CANNOT update firmware via official Fanatec updater. You require repeating the procedure of flash via "debug" port. But it HELPS if you wheelbase completely BRICK (power button just tunon fan). As alternative, you can send wheelbase or just board to Fanatec. Think all variants negotiable. Please tell you experience about how Fanatec solve this situation in you certain case.
• Hardware for flashing: TBD
• Software for flashing: TBD
• Procedure of fishing: TBD
• Emulation firmware possible but embedded developer required (need help)
• We have completely working "sacrificial" board with valid bootloader.
