Update FAQ/labeling guide with tool changes #1263

Open misaugstad opened 6 years ago

The images in the FAQ and labeling guide are out of date now, especially with the NoSidewalk label becoming purple (#1251), and should be updated accordingly.

I think we should wait to do a full overhaul of all the images until the end of the summer. We are bound to make further updates to the tool, so we should probably hold off on updating the images so that we don't have to update them multiple times.

Good catch. Agree that we should wait to update (in case we make more changes).

Yep, and when I said end of summer, I meant more like when we make the first big deployment we should update the labeling guide to be current :)

jonfroehlich commented 6 years ago

Probably makes sense to launch labeling guide now(ish) even with outdated imagery just so we can get a feel for how to properly integrate this into the tool (e.g., certainly top-level menu on landing page but also at specific points within the tool itself?)

Totally agree!

Just wondering - have we already decided how we're integrating the labeling guide? (is that the same thing as the codebook on google docs?)

jonfroehlich commented 6 years ago

There should be a branch with this. The initial release is almost done. Just needs some language polishing. Puja drafted this version based on Google Doc.

Yep the issue is #961, the list of things that still need to be done to polish the guide is in issue #1239, and the branch should be 961-labeling-guide-convert-ground-book-codebook

@aileenzeng, we should meet today and go over all of your tasks so we can prioritize. I'd like this one to get done but I also want to see what else you are working on.

aileenzeng commented 6 years ago

Okay - that sounds good! I'm free to meet whenever today.
