Consider alternatives to drop-down menu for Gallery #2515

Items are not super discoverable (without clicks). In addition, it forces mutual exclusive selections (you can only select one thing at a time) vs. multi-select. I think we should consider a different approach that is more visual. I might suggest using our labeling icons here. I might imagine having them as circles--each might need three states (normal, hover, selected)

Maybe @isavin12 has a better idea? Could just do radio buttons? Again, we should look for design inspiration.

To add, we are going with the second screenshot (on right) rather than the one that tracks counts (on left). In the future, we may pursue the left mock but for now, we felt that it would be too confusing to the user when they click different tags (i.e., should the counts update if tags are clicked and the amounts are further filtered)
