Downloaded the zip of version 1.3.8, tried it with new memloc, worked fine.
Perhaps a
problem with .NET

Jeff: The database name it's showing is the debug log is a text file, not a
database
file. If that was the file you were trying to open, then of course it's going
to
fail. If that is -not- the file you're trying to open, then there's something
wrong.

Can you please tell me exactly which file you were trying to open when that
error
occurred? If possible, do a step-by-step of exactly what action you did, and
whether
an error was logged to the log file after that step?

"Downloaded the zip of version 1.3.8, tried it with new memloc, worked fine.

Also downloaded and started DirectParse with new memlocs, works fine, so its a
problem with Kparser itself.

dharkhon and jeff.hetherington the same person?

And it doesn't answer the question about exactly what was being done when it
tried to
load the debug output text file as if it were a database file.

2 separate people. I am not trying to load an existing database file, Kparser
smply
refuses to parse anything. I load it with current(correct) memlocs, and begin it
parsing and it simply sits there. all tabs completely blank. I tried it with a
previous version (1.3.8) and with DirectParse and it worked fine, parsed the
logs
correctly.

Ok, the question I was asking was of the original poster, since he had an error
message indicating Kparser was trying to load a text file, not a database.
Since you
replied re-quoting what you'd said earlier, it seemed like you were saying you
had
already answered the question.

So for dharkhon, is Kparser generating any sort of error logs? You can click
the
Errors button in the About window to view the log.

Oh, and to jeff again re: google scripts and such, no, KParser does absolutely
nothing to connect to the internet/run scripts/etc. It's entirely
self-contained,
and only references FFXI.

No error log, and when I set it to parse, it gets nothing. Each tab is blank
and the
parser treats it as if I am not logged into the game.

I'm getting this exact error of the file being referenced is not a SQLCE
database
file even though I have everything current.

Hi Dsm,

I have this same error.

I am run Win 7 64 bit. I have the latest version installed using the setup
file. I
have set the file to run as administrator. I have downloaded and installed
everything
advised in your read me file.

When I run the parser everything looks ok. I click on start default parse which
looks
to start but no data is actually parsed. There is no errors or produced by
checking
the errors button. The same happens when using a parse to be saved.

Any suggestions or anything you would like me to try to help resolve this
issues.

Cheers.

I am having this as well on Win 7 32bit. No errors recorded at all. I have read
all
of the forum and cannot find a solution.
