so i guess ipynbs are totally unreadable in PRs? at least it renders in the repo

Aw dang that's a real shame. So I guess viewing diffs on notebooks is a huge pain. But really, these things are just for experimental scripts and proofs of concept anyway, so as we productionize we'll likely be moving towards more straight python.
