New Chapter Request - Munich #28

Closed stefanhans closed 5 years ago

stefanhans commented 5 years ago

Hi there ,

My name is Stefan Hans @stefanhans65. I'm mostly a Go developer.

Currently, my personal focus is on:

We have here in Munich a growing IPFS community since September last year.

We had two meetups of Munich IPFS so far

I do visit regularly meetups in Munich about Web 3.0, Blockchain, Golang, Web Assembly and Cloud

I do have my own long-term vision about Decentralization (Context Addressing, Distributed Context Tables, Context Engineering - it's hard to explain, but I'm getting better )

Co-Organizers

There a two guys which could possibly help co-organizing, but I have to check it out first.

What geographic area will your ProtoSchool chapter serve? Greater Munich Area (for the time being)

What should we call your repo? Munich

How should Code of Conduct violations within your chapter be reported?

Via email stefanhans65@gmail.com

Cheers, Stefan 😃

I'm happy to help if there's an event. Though I generally prefer if those things really come from the community (as it already does, thanks @stefanhans) and is not rooted by people affiliated with Protocol Labs like I am.

We will probably announce it through the Munich Meetup anyway, to keep the community close together :)

@vmx thx for the feedback 👍

I want to get a bit more a hands-on and workshop spirit in our chapter as we usually see at meet-ups.

Hi @stefanhans ,

Great initiative!

So if this is part of the Munich Meetup I am willing to help. So if you want you can put me in as a co-organizer. I like the idea. I would be willing to help with such a workshop if I can make it.

This sounds great! I'll start working on getting a munich repo set up with @stefanhans & @rklaehn listed as co-organizers and admins.

terichadbourne commented 5 years ago

Shall I still use just @stefanhans' personal email for the reporting procedure for Code of Conduct violations, or is there one I should add for @rklaehn as well? Alternatively, you could create a shared email to use for this purpose. Whatever works best for the two of you.

terichadbourne commented 5 years ago

@stefanhans @rklaehn I've set up a basic munich repo for you and given you admin privileges. I've also added you to our chapter-organizers team and the munich team you can use to communicate with your members.

Please see the issue queue in your chapter repo for a few final steps that need to be taken in order to get your repo finalized and your chapter listed on our website. Once those steps are complete, we'll close out this setup issue.

@terichadbourne Thank you for setting up the repo 👍

I will work on the issues next Tuesday. Next Monday I'll give a lunch talk at SAP Hybris which give me the chance to present IPFS and announce our Munich chapter. A t-shirt of IPFS does I have already. 😎

@rklaehn Maybe we could meet us and discuss it. Online or offline? I could pick you up for lunch. The first week of February? Looking forward anyway 😃

@terichadbourne Unfortunately, I was sick, and I still feel not 100% fine. I've started the README issue, but it's not working fine. So, I will stop and come back to it within this week.

terichadbourne commented 5 years ago

No problem, @stefanhans. I hope you feel better soon!

terichadbourne commented 5 years ago

Thanks for submitting the pull request to add your chapter to our website. It's live at https://proto.school/#/chapters.

Should you decide in the future to add a website for your chapter (which you can easily do from your repo with GitHub Pages), please be sure to update the chapters.json file to include a website field with your website URL. This will update the link in our chapter listings.

I'll close this issue now, but don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
