Hey there @ProtoSchool/chapter-organizers!

Just wanted to encourage each of you to apply for the first-ever IPFS Camp, which will take place June 27-30 in Barcelona, Spain. The event will feature three action-packed days of workshops, hacking, and collaboration designed for builders of the Distributed Web. There will be opportunities both to get up to speed on all IPFS has to offer and to help shape the direction of the project and the future of the Distributed Web. πŸš€

We're preparing some exciting new ProtoSchool tutorials to be unveiled at IPFS Camp, which will then be available for you to share at your local chapter events. πŸŽ‰

Space at IPFS Camp is limited and applications close April 25, so I encourage you to learn more and apply today at: https://camp.ipfs.io/

ps - Don't forget to invite your ProtoSchool chapter members to apply as well!

Hi Teri,

It was a motivating and pleasant second IPFS workshop at SAP Hybris yesterday evening. It was fun. We were nine people; five of them had joined us already at the first workshop.

At May 2nd the Munich IPFS meet up present a talk about "Rust libp2p". Until then, we want to have the next workshop planned, and we will announce it there.

Concerning the IPFS Camp and my application, I did it just like that, because I was not aware that it is limited and I should present myself from my best side.

Finally, another issue, which is an issue https://github.com/ProtoSchool/protoschool.github.io/issues/172 indeed, regarding the ProtoSchool website and the tutorials, is the proposal to use Go's "present" to make tutorials with interactive exercises in Go possible.

Cheers, Stefan

@kk3wong I believe camp will be limited to 150 guests total. There are no spots being held specifically for ProtoSchool chapter leaders or members. Although I’m not on the selection committee, I do know that they’re eager to welcome folks who are excited about DWeb and IPFS and particularly those who could help to grow the community after the event, so you should definitely mention your involvement with ProtoSchool when you apply. Hope that helps to answer your question.

kk3wong commented 5 years ago

@terichadbourne We will include all our involvement and contribution together in the application and hopefully we will get a spot and see all of you during the camp. Thanks a lot!

terichadbourne commented 5 years ago

Just a reminder to all of our fabulous @ProtoSchool/chapter-organizers that the application deadline for IPFS Camp is this Friday, April 26.

(@kk3wong, you mentioned planning to apply but I haven't seen anything come through from you yet. )

kk3wong commented 5 years ago

@terichadbourne, I just submitted my application right now due to busy work schedule lately. Thanks for the reminder again!

terichadbourne commented 5 years ago

Just a quick heads up that the deadline for applying to IPFS Camp has been extended until May 17 or as soon as tickets sell out, whichever comes sooner. See https://camp.ipfs.io/ for more info!
