The new surplus/deficit inventory handling is, overall, very good. There are still issues though, that fortunately are 100% reproducable.
Do this:
1) Put e.g. a sword in a chest
2) With PE player, open chest and move sword to your inventory
3) Close chest
Sword is now not in your inventory. Sometimes it drops on the floor as an item, sometimes it remains in the chest. (There's probably a pattern here but I have not fully analysed it).
There is a workaround:
1) Put e.g. a sword in a chest
2) With PE player, open chest and move sword to your inventory
2B) workaround: Now directly afterwards, move any item from your inventory to the chest.
3) Close chest
Now the sword is kept.
Affected items are at least: swords, axes, pickaxes (?) -- possibly all weapons and tools. Dragon head (which show up as a skeleton head; see separate bug), and possibly all mob heads.
I have reproduced this in survival; I'm not sure if creative also is affected.
