I would love to have a feature, where you can set a list of trusted/known networks, and if the device connects to a network not on that list, Proton VPN should auto-connect with a VPN

Re: Blacklisted IP's in FREE version I have NOT yet found 1 IP that's NOT blacklisted in the FREE version. To separate the good from the bad IP's would definitely be advantage to the FREE version. I can assure you that this discovery has changed my mind from spendind $$$ on this product. To top it all off, some of the IP's are hosted by www.protonvpn.com Other than fixing this problem, the VPN is perfect but, it's the IP's that are most important for security and privacy. PLEASE fix this problem. Thanx for your time and consideration.

Hello, there is no such thing like a blacklisted or trusted IP in an immutable way. Websites browsed (or services) by every users of ProtonVPN see the IPs from the server, and on free servers there are usually more users, all the trafic might be seen as "abusive" because too much for 1 single IP as per what websites/services owners expect, and so they flag the IP, if they share the info with some anti-abuse network, and the IP got reported by multiple nodes, this IP would become blacklisted, or at least get a bad reputation in a more global scale, and so the services may decide to simply ban it or more often present a captcha barrier.

All that to say, that IP reputation is not a black or white and permanent thing, but more a score that evolves in the time and actually vary depending which services you try to access via the VPN. And the best effort that can be done to improve the reputation of the IPs is to prevent users behavior to impact other people. And this is obviously way more difficult on free servers because of the number of users and the fact that you can easily create a free account than on paid servers.

Last thing: I don't understand this statement:

the IP's that are most important for security and privacy

As soon as you get an IP that is not your real one, no matter what is this IP, you'll have the same level of security and privacy.

Kyle, Thanks for taking thevtime to explain all this to me. It just boggles the mind. It certainly was overwhelming when I looked up these IP's at:

https://www.abuseipdb.com/

I admit that the whole technology
of the WWW can be complicated and hard to understand at times.

This is the one feature I'm waiting for. PIA has this feature and when it works, it's amazing.
