Provenance is loosely based on OpenEmu, which in turn is loosely based on Retroarch/libretro. So in essence, this is already happening, it’s just not quite as simple as copying a core from libretro into Provenance and being done with it.
This is definitely the best maybe that I've heard concerning retrogaming. :) Thank you for letting us know.

... @jasarien I think you know our project better than that. OpenEmu is a Cocoa app that has zero RetroArch/libretro code...preceding their project by several years (our first commit back on Sourceforge in Jan 2009).
Not even the core ports I've done are based on theirs. Sorry to add a needless reply to this ticket but felt compelled to clear that up. hehe :P
Fair enough, consider me corrected 😬
Hi there. I just want to leave my "me too" on the eventual ZX Spectrum support. Right now Spectrum is the main reason why I have RetropIe installed on my Pi but it would be great to have all "unified" under Provenance. My 6 year old daughter would appreciate a lot being able to change the console she's using to play my old / childhood games without my help. ☺️😊
Thank you! Pedro Fardilha
(I'm guessing this is completely off topic so please do delete it if that's the case. Libretro as already a really good number of "cores" (emulators) running straight under it with unified controls and several other definitions. Could, eventually, Provenance start adapting and using Libretro as a way of expanding the type of machines emulated?)
