Кстати по теме, как раз такая концепция
реализована в Linux-версии Skype. Кроме того,
параллельно этой идее можно подумать, как
она связана с #199

Nice idea, Kamil.
С issue 199 связана напрямую, один из способов
осуществить ту 'концепцию "почтового ящика"
'.
yagimobai, http://swift.im/ - new and now unusable psi (same authors).

One more from pros:
often i am talking with somebody hidden, after closingchat i must set visible
offline contacts, then click on that contact to see what he/she talked to me or
find it in history. If i had that additional tab in roster, i would simply
click on message and see what i forgot... (it happens many times if someone is
sending me web links)

Maybe it will be the menu with last n contacts you chat with.

I think it would be better to have just a simple timeline, something like file
of messages, one by one, thats all. Not read in bold and read in regular
text... i thought about something like that. Every new message will be appended
on the top of file with small info from who, data/time and few starting
words... clicking this will open proper chat window or message window.
And e.g. i am back to PC since one hour, then i can just click to this tab and
i can see of all messages i missed, and then i can with ease handle of so many
(if happened:) ) messages, becasue opening all notifications would be heavy to
manage.... i think.
Of course it has to be thinked out: do or dont group messages from the same
contact... i think you could group messages from one contact into one item in
such file...
