nope... works fine on mine...
Well, I tried to start my game directory from zero, I thought maybe it was something to do with my configuration file or a plugin. But no, new files, new install, no plugin and it still happening.
I don't understand. It works fine I'm on my vanilla server but not in my tshock server, and nothing apears in the log files :( In the mean time I used Super dart traps, but I still think the flame ones are pretty cool ^^
do flame traps occur in the wild? can you explain really fast how i can make a generic one to test?
flame traps were found in the temple as this is the only one place where it can be found At that time, me and my friends were on my server but it was still vanilla. Flame traps did great damage to us and nearly mobs.
I used them to our "bunker" at spawn and it worked just as it should. But ever since I downloaded the last Tshock release and that my server becam a tshock one, mobs and players are going throught the flames without being hurt. Since I dont understand what's causing it, I'm sorry to say I have no really fast way to reproduce what's happening and therefore make a generic test. All I can do is make a video really fast because I'm going to work in a few minutes, and try to upload it for you :)
If I can do anything else, just let me know !
Again, I'm really sorry to have no more information to give you. I know that this kind of issue is a real pain in the ass. I really tried to see how I could fix it by myself, to see if it was my fault because of an obscur reason, but since I failed at this part, I'm asking you :)

Just adding my voice, as I have the same issue. Quite strange behavior. A friend gave me the flame traps from the temple in our server map. The traps were working several days ago using TShock. Video can be found below:

I have range check disabled, and the tile count is rather high. I don't know if that info helps, but it's the only settings I've changed recently.
Appears to be an issue with our decompile, because without tshock the behavior of the traps are erratic.
Fixed in a commit to the terraria server.

When a mob or a player stands in the flames of the new flame traps introduced in 1.2, they don't take any damage.
It works well on a vanilla but not in tshock and I can't seem to find anyway to fix it by myself. After a few researchs, no one is talking about it :(
Edit: Fresh install doesn't change a thing :(
